Glendale Book Tour

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, I traveled with my grown children and grandson to Glendale, Rhode Island for a Book Tour. Part 1 involved visiting all the places I discussed in my new book, Growing Up Glendale. In the book, a map outlines 17 specific sites which all contributed to my amazing life there. We stopped at many sites, where I described the events and why they were special to me. Our travels also took us to several cemeteries, where we remembered many family members including my parents and my nephew, Lieutenant Ryan Ferris. 

Part 2 of the trip took us to Wright’s Farm Restaurant in Nasonville, in a village just north of Glendale. Here, we met up with many of  the living characters in the book. We met Donnie, Debbie, Gail, and Jim, many of whom I have not seen in forty years. We just picked up where we left off. The book did have the effect of bringing us all back to that magical place called Glendale. We also were joined by many others including those I served with in the fire department, my sister Polly and her husband Pete, Ryan’s wife Danielle and his two daughters Mia and Paisley, and Betty from the Burrillville Historical Society which provided many of the historical photos used in the book. It was a very good day.
